Details of the Tender Process for the Construction of the Sisian-Kajaran Section of the North-South Road Corridor Tranche 4 were Presented

The details of the technical and tender processes of construction of the new Sisian-Kajaran section (Tranche 4) of the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program were presented.

Among the participants of the presentation were the representatives of the RA road sector, representatives of international and local construction organizations, diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia, donor organizations. The purpose of the presentation was to present the Project, to inform as many construction and consulting companies as possible about the works planned in the Sisian-Kajaran section.

It is planned to build a new road section of technical Category II with a total length of about 60 km, including bridges with a total length of 4.7 km and tunnels with a total length of 12.5 km (including the Bargushat tunnel, which will be about 8.7 km long).

Mrs. Christine Ghalechyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, speaking about the importance of the project, noted that the development of infrastructure for each country is one of the preconditions for sustainable, dynamic economic development.

Mr. Stepan Machyan, General Director of the "Road Department" SNCO, stressed the importance of the North-South Road Corridor for the region and Armenia. He noted that the investment program of the North-South Road Corridor will have a significant impact on the road network of Armenia. The Sisian-Kajaran section will be constructed according to a new alignment.

Mr. Karen Badalyan, Project Manager of Tranche-2 and Tranche-4 Projects of the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program presented details of the Sisian-Kajaran road section.

Ms. Hasmik Ordukhanyan, Head of Procurement Department of the "Road Department" SNCO, spoke about the tender to be announced for the selection of the construction company, as well as the tender stages for the selection of the technical supervision company.
