The Construction Contract for the Ashtarak-Talin Section of the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program has been Signed

On October 03, 2023 the construction contract for the Ashtarak-Talin section of the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program has been formally signed by the Road Department Fund (RDF) and contractor organizations. This 34 km section, financed by the ADB and the Government of Armenia will enhance regional connectivity and stimulate economic growth.
The signing ceremony was chaired by Gnel Sanosyan, RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure (MTAI) and was attended by key RA officials, ADB, Contractor, Supervision Engineer.
The contract signing marks the beginning of the active construction phase to finalize this section.
Mr. Thomas Herz, ADB Senior Transport Specialist, welcomed the attendees on behalf of ADB and mentioned that since 2009, ADB has financed the main sections of the North-South road corridor, emphasizing the importance of construction of Ashtarak-Talin 34 km and highlighted that the North-South is the backbone of the road system of Armenia.
