Over 40 participants from four implementing agencies (IA) of ADB funded projects in Armenia and Georgia attended a Knowledge Sharing Workshop on Social Safeguards and resettlement on April 6-8 2023 in Armenia. ARRM Project Administration Unit Head Huiping Huang, GRM DCD Kamel Bouhmad, and Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Territorial Administration of Armenia Christine Ghalechyan delivered opening remarks. The workshop aimed to respond to the need for knowledge sharing of good practices and lessons learned between experienced IAs; discuss specific topics of interest raised by safeguards teams of both countries; and present outcomes of involuntary resettlement country assessments conducted for Armenia and Georgia by ADB in 2022. As a practical learning experience, the participants visited the Armenia-Georgia Border Regional Road (M6 Vanadzor-Bagratashen) Improvement Project.
