On July 11, 2018 Mr Vazgen Petrosyan,  Interim General Director of the "Transport Project Implementation Organization" SNCO, the representatives of the SNCO and the European Investment Bank made a visit to Lori region to get acquainted with the current status of the M6, Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Georgia border Interstate Road Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (km0+000-km38+450 section). Completion date of road reconstruction and improvement works is scheduled for late November.

Currently, the contractors are mainly engaged in subgrade levelling,  construction of base course and pavement, retaining walls strengthening, , construction of  2 tunnels drainage systems, reconstruction of  road accesses. It is also envisaged to reconstruct the destroyed retaining wall due to the collapse on the 12th kilometer. During the visit the contractors assured that civil works will be completed within the specified deadlines and with the required quality.

The Project is financed by the European Investment Bank, with the RA Government co-financing.
