The Kajaran tunnel will be equipped with all necessary modern systems
Arkadi Cherchinyan, Executive Director of the Road Department Fund, and Ali Mousavi Rahimi, head of the respective Iranian contractor company, have signed a contract for the construction of Armenia’s Kajaran Tunnel.
The 7.2km-long tunnel will be equipped with the necessary modern systems, such as:
• Automatic power supply and distribution system
• Automatic lighting system
• Evacuation signal and traffic light marker system
• Automatic ventilation system
• Evacuation exit ventilation and protection systems
• SOS station system
• Automatic video surveillance system
• Radio broadcasting system
• Automatic fire detection system
• Automatic fire extinguishing system
• Control center
The motorway to be built inside the Kajaran Tunnel will have two lanes and sidewalks with a total width of 10.6 meters.
Also, an additional 3-meter widening of the tunnel’s lane is planned every 250 meters to ensure emergency stops for vehicles.
An exit will also be built under the tunnel for evacuation in case of emergencies.
The project will include the construction of 4km long motorways connecting to the Kajaran Tunnel.
